Carbon Offset Program
HeliNY is committed to sustainability and reducing its environmental footprint by participating in a carbon offset program. This proactive approach is crucial in addressing climate change, fostering ecological balance, and promoting responsible aviation practices.
By investing in projects that reduce or sequester greenhouse gas emissions, HeliNY not only offsets the carbon emissions generated by its flights but also contributes to global efforts to
combat climate change.
This commitment to sustainability resonates with eco-conscious travelers and corporate clients who prioritize environmental responsibility. Additionally, it aligns with broader industry trends towards greener aviation practices, helping to future-proof HeliNY’s operations in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Through these efforts, HeliNY demonstrates its dedication to preserving the natural beauty of the destinations it serves while ensuring a cleaner, healthier Northeastern USA.
With zero emission helicopter propulsion still many years away, we balance our emissions today by funding carbon reductions equal to the carbon emissions from our annual jet fuel use. We do so by purchasing carbon credits from the Hudson Farm Forestry Project.
The Hudson Farm project in northern New Jersey reduces carbon dioxide by increasing the storage of CO2 in the forest. In the heart of a highly developed region with increasing threats of fragmentation and parcellation, Hudson Farm protects 3,600 acres for enjoyment by future generations and reduces an estimated 4,000 metric tons of CO2e annually.
The Hudson Farm Forestry Project undergoes rigorous third-party verification under the American Carbon Registry which is approved by ICVCM, the leading global governance organization for high-integrity carbon credits.
